FINALLY! My card series project is finished, and I'm pretty happy with how they have turned out too! There was supposed to be another card, Batman, but I ran out of time. Maybe during spring break I will finish him up. Well, thats really all I have left to say, I'll let the cards speak for themselves. :D

Some more progress/ preview shots of the card series I'm working on. I only have a couple days left, and am only about to reach the half way point. There's still so much left to do!

With every new illustration, I always have a little more courage to push things a little farther with experimentation. They are always baby steps though. For these pieces, I have been experimenting with subtle textures and filters to help push the depth of the piece. I try not to go overboard though, photoshop can very quickly ruin an image with too many filters and textures...

This is a bit delayed, but I found out last week that 3 of my illustrations were accepted into the Art of Illustration show, which is an annual student competition held here at CCAD!

For more information on AOI, visit their blog here, which still has a showcase of last years winners.

Some close ups of one of the final illustrations for my playing cards series. I'm pretty much done with this one, so four more to go! I hope I can find the time to finish them all. :O

Along with my card project, I am also putting together a series of drawings based on fairy tales for my figure drawing class. Here is a sketch I worked out last night for Pinocchio.

There will be a total of 4 drawings in the series, and will illustrate the stories of Pinocchio, Beauty and the Beast, Little Red Riding Hood, and Sleeping Beauty.

More to come soon! :D

It's been so long since I have updated this! I felt like showing a little bit of what I have been working on. I am designing a series of children's playing cards that deal with superheroes. I thought it would be fun playing around with the concept of kids dressed up in costumes...

The above image is a rough comp of the front package design. Still working on the type layout, which will be framed by superman... or superboy's (?) cape, but I'm liking the way it is turning out, as well as the other cards I'm designing. There will be a total of 4 fully illustrated cards plus the package design. I'm gonna be a busy busy man for the next few weeks! :O
