New Illustration: Aviator
It took awhile, but I finally got this finished. Between finding a new apartment, traveling to Columbus back and forth AND a trip to chicago, I have been working diligently on getting this piece to be the best that it can be. As mentioned in the previous post, this illustration has a little more than just graphite and photoshop. This time around I used watercolor washes and colored pencil to add texture to the clouds as well as make custom brushes for certain effects. It took A LOT of time and trial and error (which is why I didn't even attempt to bother with this during school) but I am very pleased with the final results.
Next post I will show some of the process of this illustration from the initial sketch to the final product.
New project: Aviator
It's been awhile since I have updated anything with my illustration portfolio. After graduation, I found myself completely burnt out. I took a break from art for a majority of the summer to relax and refuel on inspiration and ideas. Now I am back, and have a completely new list of ideas that I am really excited about! I consider this piece I'm working on now as a warm up and an opportunity to try out a few new techniques.
Getting ready to move into the final phase of this illustration. I'm going to add some painting and colored pencils in the mix this time. Should be interesting! For more frequent updates on the process of this piece, I will be posting progress shots on my twitter and Facebook page, so be sure to follow me and keep an eye out! :D
